Skeetersoft,
Inc. presents
the 1978 baseball season card set and computer disks.
1978 – "Hold on there Bucko"
1978
featured an incredibly tense American League race, which found the Yankees and
Red Sox tied at the end of the regular season.
A one-game playoff ensued, possibly the most remembered single game in
baseball history. The game was put away
when the Yankee's light-hitting shortstop Bucky Dent popped one out over the
"Green Monster" in left. Lou
Pinella, not known for the quality of his fielding, pulled off one of the
greatest bluffs ever seen to keep Red Sox runners from scoring.
The
playoffs and World Series were anti-climactic in some sense, although Reggie
Jackson, "Mr. October", put the Dodgers away in the Series for the
second straight year.
The
1978 card set contains 650 players, the 25 players most representative of each
team during the season.
The
1978 "extra players" card set contains 254 players, compromising
every player who played in the big leagues in 1978 and is not a part of the
25-man lineup in the regular card set.
In
all, 904 player cards--every 1978 big league ball player -- all symbols
necessary for both board game versions are printed directly on the cards. A roster sheet that lists the most
frequently used 25 players for each team and representative lineups is included
with the 1978 basic card set.
Skeetersoft, Inc.’s card sets are available exclusively from Skeetersoft,
