Pitcher"
It took
a while, but the pitchers finally got revenge for the obscenely offensive
season of 1930. Only one hitter batted
.300 in the American League (Yaz). Don
Drysdale broke a record for consecutive scoreless innings and Bob Gibson posted
a 1.12 ERA in the National League while Denny McLain of the Tigers became the
first pitcher to win 30 games since 1934.
The
Tigers mopped up the American League and took the Series from the Cardinals in
seven games.

on the cards. A roster sheet is
included listing the most frequently used 25 players for each team and
representative lineups.
