1966 – "The Inklings of a Dynasty"

The 1966 Baltimore Orioles surprised the baseball World by taking the American League championship.  Then they completely floored the World by beating the pitching rich Los Angeles Dodgers, led by future Hall-of-Famers Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax.

Paced by Triple Crown winner Frank Robinson, the team which came to be known as "the baby birds" swept the Series while allowing only one run to the Dodgers and gave baseball fans everywhere a preview of a dynasty which would rule the AL from 1969-1971.
