1963 – "Dodgers Win, Dodgers
Win!"
The
Dodgers and Yanks met again in the Series for the first time since 1956, and
for what would prove to be the last time for another 14 years.
Despite
losing Mantle for most of the season, the Yanks powered by the league on the
bats of Elston Howard, Tom Tresh, Roger Maris, and Joe Pepitone. Whitey Ford won 24 games and Jim Bouton won
21.
The
Dodgers were known as a pitching and defense team, and may have overachieved
more than any team in history, given their offensive output. They not only made it to the Series but
swept the Yankees in four games, solidifying their niche as one of the
grittiest teams of their time.
695
player cards--every 1963 Major Leaguer.
All symbols necessary for both board game versions are printed directly
on the cards. A roster sheet is
included listing the most frequently used 25 players for each team and
representative lineups.
Skeetersoft, Inc.’s card sets are available exclusively from Skeetersoft,
