1953 – "5 Card Draw"

Casey Stengel put his hand into his magic bag and came up with 5 aces ... the Yanks won their fifth consecutive World Series Championship.  Mickey Mantle came into his own as the Yankee leader in this season and the cast of Mantle, Berra, McDougald, Martin, and some tough pitching, continued the ride.

The Yanks beat a Dodger team that was a pitcher's nightmare, but featured, unfortunately, some pitching nightmares of their own.  Snider, Campanella, Robinson, et. al., would have to wait for another year, or two.
