Ted Williams wins the triple crown for the second time. Joe DiMaggio beats out Williams for the MVP. Ralph Kiner and Johnny Mize each hit 51 home runs.

The Yanks took the series from the Dodgers for the second time in the Series, and added fuel to a rivalry that would be heated for two decades.
