1928 – "What a beautiful Babe"
Babe
Ruth and Lou Gehrig, as usual, provided the fireworks for the Yankees, who held
off a powerful and improving Athletics nine by two and a half games.
The
Yankees met the Cardinals in the Series, and just as they had in 1927, swept
the Classic in four games, avenging their 1926 loss to the Redbirds.
Rogers
Horsnsby, now with the Braves hit .387 to lead the National League. Despite the hitting, there were a couple of
25-game winners in the pitching ranks.
505
player cards--every 1928 Major Leaguer.
All symbols necessary for both board game versions are printed directly
on the cards. A roster sheet is
included listing the most frequently used 25 players for each team and
representative lineups.
