A great
seven-game Series between the Yanks and the Cardinals. Old Pete Alexander struck out Yankee rookie
Tony Lazzeri with the bases loaded in the 7th and hung on to win when Babe Ruth
was out trying to steal Second with two out in the 9th.
The
Indians and Reds pushed the pennant winners, but the Cardinals were way overdue
and the Yanks held off Cleveland.
