1924 – "Five Straight Titles"

Rogers Hornsby won his fifth straight batting title with a record average of .424, a record that has never been equalled.

The Giants won a tight race in the National League and Washington took the American league (barely) by two games.  The Giants won their unprecedented fourth straight pennant.

In the World Series, Washington won the 7th game when a freak hop bounced over Fred Lindstrom's head in the 12th inning.
