1923 – "Yankees FINALLY ..."
Playing
in the brand new Yankee Stadium, the Yankees actually took the pennant with a
team that seemed to be built more on pitching and defense than the fabled
Yankee slugging. Babe Ruth did,
however, knock 41 homers and drive in 130 runs in leading the Yanks to their
third consecutive pennant, but first World Series title.
In
the National League, the Giants, led by their own hitting star. won the third
of what was to be four straight pennants.
513
player cards--every 1923 Major Leaguer.
All symbols necessary for both board game versions are printed directly
on the cards. A roster sheet is
included listing the most frequently used 25 players for each team and
representative lineups.
