The 1902 season was the beginning of the end of the war between the fledgeling A.L. and the veteran N.L. At the beginning of the seasons their was rampant raiding ... by the end there was an uneasy truce.

All the early greats are in this set, like Honus Wagner and Cy Young. The A's won the American League Pennant, and the super-strong Pirates, who avoided the player raiding somehow, hammered a depleted N.L. talent pool.
